IB PYP GRADE 5

Storytelling is a universal and traditional art form that has a strong impact on children as well as adults. It can be used to inform, entertain and educate. It is often used as a medium to ingrain values, improving reading skills and opening the minds of children to worlds beyond imagination. A workshop for story-telling was thus organized for class IBPYP grade 1 to 5 by CiIFS by Mr.Sanjay Muttoo, on 15th May  2018. The session was indeed valuable and distinct. Children found it really interested and engrossed in the story of “The Peepal Tree” which was told to them with creative gestures and facial expressions. The appropriate use of voice modulation and body language infused passion, enhanced imagination and expression and introduced children to new horizons of storytelling.Overall this session helped the young souls for creative thinking.

To inculcate love for languages and encourage young learners to shed their fears of standing up and presenting a speech in public, an extempore was conducted for Grade 5 students.

''Plant a tree and make life of the Earth longer'' Thanks to students of grade 5 who joined hands and planted a 'hope' to save Earth. A special thanks to Manya Aggarwal for taking the initiative.

Empathy is: Seing with eyes of another Listening with the ears of another Feeling with the heart of another... Students took the charge of explaining the deeper meaning of empathy to their friends by creating and enacting  a short real- life situation.

Let's unwrap the central idea! We wonder who actually came first..man or a woman? How humans actually evolved? Why humans migrated? A speaking activity was conducted for the students of grade 5 in which some students presented on sources of history which they shortlisted and other general topics. Manya Aggarwal and Nitya Sharma shared about the ancient postage stamps they collected. Also, a special thanks to Divyanashu of grade 12 for getting them an insight about the same. Students watching some part of a video on genetic odyssey and unwrapping the LOI 1 by brainstorming questions on origin and journey with their partners.

New session begins! We make mistakes, learn and grow together! Welcome 'the enthusiastic learners' to the new academic year full of hopes and aspirations..Wishing you all lovely 14teens a super fantastic year full of enthusiasm!   

Student Led Conference; students taking the ownership and breaking the stereotypical norms of traditional parent-teacher meet. Students of grade 5 conducted inquiry in the classroom and involved parents into the learning process.
